Whenever new construction is proposed, the preparation of a boundary and topographic
survey will enable the architect or engineer to determine the existing site features and conditions necessary to design the proposed improvements.
For simple projects such as small residential additions on relatively flat parcels, sometimes the main design concern is the position of existing buildings on the parcel relative to the setbacks and/or property lines. In this case the surveyor will perform a setback
survey to determine the building's location with respect to the setbacks and property lines.
CFS Engineering will ask key questions to determine the and scope of the project and the necessary detail required by design professionals and governing agencies when applicable.
